Watchmen
My first impression when I received the comic Watchmen from amazon was "Is this a book for an English class?", but now that we have discuss many lenses it makes more sense why we are using it. Watchmen's genre is kind of hard to define. Yes Watchmen is a comic, and of course is science- fiction because it has heroes in it and supernatural stuff that does not happen in real life. It falls into the usual comic line between heroes and their enemies, or the villains, but watchmen has a particular thing different than most comic books. In most comic books the heroes always do what is morally correct, in Watchmen the heroes kind of have a mind of their own they do as they please, yes they help society, but still they do as they please. Is kind of like they take advantage of being the heroes. Also watchman is like a parody for what was going on in the US at the time it was written. It is a representation of what was happening during those times, so if you think about it, it has some truth in between its lines. Watchman's content includes a lot of politics and it represents some politic issues that were occurring when the comic was written. So maybe is watchmen a politic-historic science-fiction comic? Who knows?

GOVERNMNET SHUTDOWN
As we all heard all over the news the government is going through a shutdown, and this hasn't happened in over 17 years. This shutdown is affecting thousands, if not millions of people all over the U.S. Honestly in my opinion this actions are pretty stupid. In many of the blogs and other sources I have read so far, the government looks like two little kids fighting over a toy. They do not want to pass a budget and decide to shut government down and maybe if they shut it down it would affect enough people that it would make Obama-care to go away and disappear. In my opinion is a great act and a great opportunity, but hey who's listening to me right? Apparently the government is not listening to any of us, and we are supposed to be the ones making the decisions. Honestly I think the solution for people like us would be to gather up and make ourselves be heard. It might not work at first but hey, we are a small group writing blogs about this, maybe if others outside class read this, they might jump in share and so on, until we get enough people involved that it would be impossible for the government not to listen, and also it would make it harder to shut us up.
